Arizona workers’ compensation attorney Javier C. Grajeda, an attorney at the Law Offices of Robert E. Wisniewski, was the recipient of the 2021 Rising Star Award by the Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group (WILG). Javier was presented with the award at WILG’s 2021 Annual Convention in September in Palm Beach, Florida.
The Rising Star Award is given to workers’ compensation attorneys who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and accomplishments in service to WILG.
This designation is particularly meaningful coming from WILG, which is a nationally recognized and highly respected non-profit organization committed to advocating for hardworking Americans who become ill or injured on the job.
As a member-based organization supported by more than 1,100 attorneys across the country, WILG serves injured workers and their families through education, communication, research, advocacy, and information gathering.
“Workers’ compensation attorneys are a humble and noble bunch,” said WILG President Mack Babcock following the 2021 Annual Convention. “We fight the hardest fights in a system completely rigged against our clients. There are no cameras when we win. There are no news articles when we lose.”
Javier grew up in Los Angeles, California, working in his family’s landscaping business, where he learned the value of hard work and became interested in workers’ rights.
He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley and then the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. He received high honors for his pro bono contributions.
Since being admitted to the State Bar of Arizona in 2010, Javier has made it his mission to represent injured workers throughout Arizona. He is fluent in Spanish and served on the board of Los Abogados, Arizona’s Hispanic Bar Association. He regularly publishes and lectures on the rights of undocumented workers.
Javier joined the Law Offices of Robert E. Wisniewski in 2019, after practicing for 8 years as a partner in a large Phoenix workers’ compensation law firm.
